We use several methods for waterfowl hunting. We remain mobile throughout the season, which is a must. If the ducks are on big water, we will deploy our 16ft, 70 inch river john and blind to go where needed. If ducks are piled into flooded river bottoms or fields, we will utilize our boat or possibly do a walk-in wade hunt if possible. We hunt several sloughs where wading in is the best tactic and provides the most success. We recommend light waders for our September hunts and Neoprene of at least 3mm during the colder months. We will provide all calling, decoys and setup materials that are needed. We suggest using #2 shot from a 12 gauge shotgun during the late season. Our harvest usually consists of a mixed bag of ducks, including both puddle ducks and divers.

Kentucky Early Season Teal and Wood Duck- Early Waterfowl typically opens the third Wednesday in September and goes out 5 days later on a Sunday. Limit is 4 ducks, no more of which can be 2 wood ducks. We recommend using 4 shot. Most shots will be pass shooting as the birds leave their roosts in the morning and then upon their return in the evenings. This hunt is usually fast paced and short. We hunt backwater sloughs for this hunt and at times some fields.

Indiana Early Season Teal- Ohio River zone, September - These hunt dates vary and will be posted once the IDNR sets the season. We recommend using 4 shot. Most shots will be pass shooting as the birds leave their roosts in the morning and then upon their return in the evenings. This hunt is usually fast paced and short. We hunt backwater sloughs for this hunt and at times some fields.

Thanksgiving Morning Duck Hunt - Opening Day hunt approximately 3 hours - For this hunt we will have scouted out the holes that are attracting ducks and focus on them for Opening day. We conclude this hunt after 3-4 hours of light in lieu of the Holiday.

Daily duck hunting throughout the season- Nov-Jan - We maintain status of birds in our areas and will not schedule a hunt if we do not have birds to hunt. Here in Western Kentucky mobility is the game and is something we can be. We will hunt sloughs, strip pits, small lakes, ponds, rivers or the big lakes. If the birds are there, that is where we will be. We want you to be successful on your hunts as much as you do and will not schedule anything that is likely to be a bust. You have our word on that.

Indiana Duck hunts - Southwest Indiana Ohio River zone season - We have nearly 300 acres of bottomland that we hunt situated approximately 12 miles from Hovey Lakenear the influx of the Wabash River into the Ohio River. During most of our season we consistently have ducks day in and day out. However, the river level can and will have an affect on our hunts and the species of ducks we have. This is something that we must factor and will not book your hunt if we do not think we will be successful.
