To
All,
I am putting
together another Archery Spring
Bear hunt for 2011. We are looking for 6 hunters on this trip. If you are interested
in joining us drop me an email with Bear hunt in the subject
line. Non-hunting guests or fisherman are also welcome at
this remote Wilderness lodge with a lot of modern anemities.
in 2010 6 hunters killed.............. In
2009 we had 5 of 7 shoot bears, while everyone had bear
encounters. In 2008,
although 4 of 5 hunters seen shot opportunities, we did
have a hunter who did not see a bear while on stand. During 2007 4 out of 4 hunters shot bears. Bears do not throw caution to the side. They
approach any food source with extreme care. Being scent
free and keeping movement to a minimum is a must. .......................................................
The
Hunt: This is ARCHERY ONLY. Crossbows are legal.
The hunt consists of 5 full days hunting with a 1 bear limit.
Hunting is over bait with shots likely to be 12-20 yards.
Hunters will be assisted or may get themselves to and from
stand locations. Bear retreival, skinning and quartering
will be performed by WKO and the hunters. In the event someone
wounds a bear and it goes unrecovered there will be a $250
fee required to continue your hunt. This fee must be paid
in cash before your hunt is allowed to continue. Normally
this camp does not allow a second opportunity if you wound
a bear. Due to the distance being traveled and negotiating,
this will be allowed for our group in the event something
unforeseen happens.
Great
fishing is also available as part of this hunt for Pike,
Walleye, Lake Trout, Whitefish and Perch. Boats withOUT
motors are provided as part of this hunt. However,
motors can be rented for $40-$60 per day, plus gasoline.
Fishing will NOT be guided.
