Below you will find some of our favorite
trips that we offer to you as a guided offering.
North Alabama Smallmouth bass
- This fishing trip takes place in the months of November,
January, February, March and in some cases April. These
months provide you the best chance at landing that trophy
Smallmouth bass of over 5lbs. We will be fishing below
Wheeler or Wilson Dams on famous Lake Pickwick or Wilson
Lake. These famous waters give up numerous trophy fish
every year. During this trip, fishing will be dictated
by water levels and current that is generated from the
dams. A common tactic is to bounce threadfin shad across
the bottom with the current or life like jigs/softbaits
of the same likeness. During low current periods, we
will target the numerous bluff walls making up the banks
with crank baits, spinnerbaits, and jerk baits. Recommended
tackle is medium action 6ft spinning rods and reels
spooled with your better 8lb test lines. An all day
trip consists of starting at daylight and fishing a
full 10 hours or less if the client is ready to end
the day. An Alabama non- resident trip license that
costs $11 will also be required. Bring a small cooler
with drink, snacks or sandwiches to allow us to stay
on the water.
Spring Crappie on Barkley
or Kentucky Lake - This trip takes place
in March/April when paper mouths start moving shallow
for their annual spawn. Spring temps and TVA's control
of the water level dictates the fishing which can be
superb. Fishing will be done over brush piles or creek
ledges if the water levels are low. If lake levels are
high, we will find fish in the buck brush and stake
beds that dot the lake. Live bait and small jigs on
light tackle or crappie poles will be used.
May Bed fishing for Bluegill
- This trip can take place on any water in
Kentucky during the month of May when bluegills move
to the shallows and make their homes over saucer sized
beds on the lake bottom. We will utilize light tackle
with crickets, worms or small grubs. This is a favorite
for both the young and young and heart. We can accommodate
2-3 fisherman.
Largemouth Bass
- In Kentucky March is the time to land that lunker-bass
on most of the waters across the state. We mainly target
Barkley and Kentucky lakes and several smaller waters
that dot the state. We fish using most common techniques
and then some. These trips will start at daylight and
will run 8 hours. We will conduct bass fishing trips
from February through July.
Night time Largemouth Bass
- These trips will begin at 6pm and commence around
2am. This trip will involve mostly crankbait and spinnerbait
fishing. We will make this trip throughout the months
of June, July and August.
Summer jumps for white bass
- This trip involves sighting schools of white bass
coming up in jumps and moving to toward them and casting
into the jumps. This is a fast paced, action packed
trip. Light tackle using top-water or shallow running
baits are used.
Bowfishing for Roughfish
- This is a favorite and always provides action. This
trip will be based on backwater sloughs or on various
lakes across the state. Typically these trips are conducted
April through June.
